Heather Holland is Managing Principal of Holland Energy Consulting, LLC, a boutique management and human resources consulting firm providing services in the areas of supplier diversity, diversity & inclusion, leadership and executive coaching, labor relations, advocacy, and alternative dispute resolution.
Heather’s track record as an influential and proven leader along with 15 years’ business experience serves as foundational building blocks of Holland Energy Consulting. Heather has held various business unit and human resources leadership positions of increasing responsibility across North America with Fortune 500 companies traversing multiple industries including energy (oil, gas, electrical power, storage, onshore, offshore, renewables), manufacturing, education and rail.
Most recently, Heather worked at TransCanada, an energy infrastructure company, as Manager of Supplier Diversity & Local Content. In this role, Heather functioned as an organizational change agent with accountability for strategy and program development, managed a portfolio of U.S. and Canadian energy infrastructure projects in excess of $20B, championed company reputation and stakeholder engagement ranging from industry associations, union leadership and U.S. and Canadian political figures and their teams.
Learning the value of discipline and leadership early on as a track field athlete facilitated Heather’s journey to become an influential leader. A Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Heather has the unique ability to engage people of all organizational levels and backgrounds. This has afforded Heather the opportunity to work in diverse environments ranging from operations to construction, union and non-union, and from the shop floor to the C-suite.
Heather has always had a special affinity for fairness and equity especially in the areas of employment and economics. Heather champions strategies, plans and efforts that promote diversity, in particular, the access and inclusion of women and minorities in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) related career fields. She utilizes this passion as well as her knowledge and expertise to speak to audiences at corporate and industry events, participates in panel discussions and engages in youth outreach.
In 2015, Heather was recognized as one of the ‘Top 30 Influential Women in Houston’. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources and Labor Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; a certificate in Organizational Development from Queens University; and Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communications from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
A Chicago native, Heather currently splits her time between Houston, TX and Washington D.C. She is a sports fan who appreciates the joy and adventure of travel, enjoys experiencing the amazing flavors of food across the globe and a lover of architecture and the art of live music.
